Yes, that would be a useful addition to the set of balancing mechanisms suggested here - and only for unrated games, obviously.

One thing I've never seen (so far) at any chess site is the ability to set the clocks for different TLs - a good way to give odds to weaker players and get odds from better players. I'd be interested in the ability to set both clocks independently.
