The USCF is currently offering some online rated play (at another site).
The are some rules for online play in the newest rule additions (that replace what is in the printed book) but the regulations strongly suggest certified tournament directors at each location where the games are being played. They do allow for "at home" play but as a TD, I don't know how comfortable I would be with that.
I don't know right off what the FIDE stance is on online play and ratings.
That said, I like the idea, though making sure all rules are followed and handling any glitches are potential issues.
Hi just a suggestion not sure what the response will be ...
Do you you guys or the chess.com admin team, think it would be good to host a tournament that would be hosted by FIDE or USCF and the outcome would reflect your personal rating at FIDE or USCF?
It would be completely based in live chess and not daily chess (turn based) and the time set up would be the same as a normal hosted event by FIDE or USCF ...
What are your thoughts?
