My first tournament

This is a 3 day per move tournament with vacation time allowed (paying members such as yourself will be placed on vacation if you are about to lose on time, check your settings to see how much you have). It's a large tournament so you will see the full range - some will not make a single move in any game and lose all games on time, some will play quickly, some will take the full 3 days to play their move. Some will use their vacation time (diamond members have up to 3 months). How you play it is entirely up to you. Such a tournament with many rounds will last a long time, potentially 2-3 years. Average length of a game is let's say 40 moves, both players use all 3 days, that's 240 days. The next round won't start until all qualifiers are decided so that could be quite some time. If you decide to withdraw this is absolutely up to you, nobody will call you out on it as being in some way disrespectful.
