Just a question....When you win a tournament and you get points

just what do you or can you do with these points??

As far as I know - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It's one of the most useless features on this site.

Tournament points allow you to can compare your success / activity to other tournament players.  http://www.chess.com/tournaments/leaderboard.html

They appear to be messed up a little ...

 Name# TournamentsPoints
#1  AWARDCHESS (1758) International 47 6,346
#2  solitaru (2003) International 32 4,189
#3  AlekseyP (2160) Ukraine 45 3,455
#4  haddad56 (1967) Egypt 2 2,372
#5  filithekid (1544) Bosnia-Herzegovina 37 2,129

... but you can still tell who are the active tournament players.

Don't go into business. Bankruptcy looms.

Businesses award redeemable points when you purchase from them. For example you spend a thousand dollars and you redeem your points for ten dollars of product or service.

In terms of chess.com, something like this. Purchase 10 years of Diamond membership for one month free.

How about 1 month free for winning a tourney?

It might be difficult to find people willing to pay their share of the $1000 fee for a chance to win a free month of membership.
