Groups - Player Counts

On my group's home page, it says we have 350 members, but looking at the list, there's only 282.  So if a person has their account closed, they no longer appear in the member list, but they DO still appear in the member count? 

These tallies (for virtually all groups) have been wrong for a long time. Looking at 4 of the groups I'm in, the membership numbers claim 25, 22, 22, and 16 respectively but I count them as 19, 19, 19 and 12.

In any case, even the number of members listed is a fairly misleading statistic for the level of participation in any group.

(Do you recall kco's suggestion alert-in-groups for group SuperAdmins to be notified when someone joins or leaves? - not that it would help in this case when someone is ejected from the site.)

I would like that notice as well.  I've seen my player count drop and thought to myself, "I wonder who left."
