I'm a curious person and i'm in business that works around networking and referals.

80-90% of my business comes from referals and I don't want to spend money on advertising and i thought i might be able to help every business out their as everybody needs my product and services for everyday running of a business.

Btw i'm not trying to sell anything i'm only interested in finding out how i can best help people with their needs, thus asking questions in the right ways to existing business owners all over the world gives me a bigger look at what people want.

Sorry if this is not a topic i should be posting and if this offends please let me know as i love this site and chess is great to get you thinking early in the mornings.

Well Nathan I have two businesses. One is construction, room additions and remodeling. The other is selling green products. ionizers . non detergent cleaners. Vegan food supplements. etc. etc. Both are word of mouth. The websites were too much trouble for the little return on the investment . Tried radio and tv ads, but couldn't target the group that uses these products. Direct mailings were a scatter shot hit and miss.. When the economy is good people buy... when it is not people worry and cut back to necessities... You can be the best at what you do and still go hungry, if your product is not what the public needs, wants, or desires...

Nathan,

I am a house painter/handyman. I work alone on referals and pick up lots of additional interest anytime what I am up to is visable in a neighborhood. (like when I work outside) People approach me and ask for a card or to stop by to see if I can look at a project before leaving the area.

My base of customers was generated decades ago by tiny ads in a local newspaper.
