Naviary's Custom Events for Never-Ending Infinite Sandbox Chess

The Event Chess variant was invented by @Martin0 (original rules here). This is my custom list of events solely made for this game! Some may be carried over from Martin's list. Feel free to make suggestions for more, fun events to include in my endless game!

1. "Variety" Pieces are not allowed to move twice in a row. Pieces that moved last update will be highlighted, so it'll be simple to tell what piece you aren't allowed to move.

2. "Tanks" Pieces are not forced to stop moving upon capturing another piece, they can now continue to slide/keep moving along the same path after the capture. They cannot capture 2 pieces in 1 move.

3. "Obstacles" Each player, absorbing their move that round, may place an obstacle anywhere on the board, obstacles look like a solid black circle, it belongs to nobody's army so it cannot move, it can be taken just like any other piece, but it can block movement! Obstacles will not immediately despawn upon event end, but instead will start receiving a 25% of de-spawning on every update. Their capture does not give you energy points. There is a 25% chance this event will be the Voids-variant. Players place voids instead of obstacles (see #7 for how void squares work). They still receive the 25% despawn chances after event ends.

4. "Agility-Z" Guards, Kings, Hunters, and Dwarfs gain the ability to move twice in a single move. However, they cannot make 2 captures in one move!

5. "Obstacle Thicket" A TON obstacles are randomly generated around the playing areas. (see #4 for how obstacles work). The final 3 days of this event, all the obstacles will despawn. For each piece, 3 tries are given to spawn an obstacle within 4 tiles of it.

6. "World Destruction" After every game board update, 1 void square attempts to spawn within 3 tiles of each existing piece. A void square cannot spawn on top of piece (or another void square), but pieces can be trapped. Void squares hinder movement and cannot be captured, they can only be jumped over! Witches CANNOT make them transparent either because they are absence of board! The final 3 days of this event, all the voids will despawn.

7. "Minefield" 3 nukes randomly generate around random pieces! This event cannot be activated if there are any nukes currently in play. They do NOT despawn upon end of 14-day move cycle, they can only be used-up by exploding them! Nukes take the form of a black silhouette of a guard. They can be captured. They only go off once the holder captures another piece, at which time it will explode the surrounding 8 pieces (not the holder). Capturing a piece holding a nuke will NOT set off the nuke, rather transfer ownership of the nuke over to you. A piece holding a nuke visually has 8 black spikes coming out of them. Nukes can be passed to an adjacent piece, not absorbing your move, it must be done logically after you move. Optional to buy a paint can from the shop to convert a regular nuke into a paint nuke, which will instead upon exploding will dye the surrounding 8 pieces the color of your army, effectively giving you control over them! If a nuke is in the blast radius of another nuke they will chain react! Even paint nukes will chain react (paint nukes cannot be color-changed). You only get half rewards for exploding pieces.

8. "Double Trouble" Start 2 new events instead of one.

9. "Crippled Amazons" All knights gain the ability of crippled amazons! They go back to normal upon ending of 14-update cycle.

10. "Universe Bubbles" Upon activation, any tile within 6 blocks of an existing piece will be left open, EVERYWHERE ELSE becomes void! (See #7 for how void squares work) This can trap 2 enemies in the same bubble, or help the loners to safely increase their army strength! Upon end of 14-update cycle the board will return to normal.

11. "Toroidal Universe" The board basically becomes a huge torus (or sphere), not infinite, but can expand infinitely to account for anyone's huge moves. If you make a huge move you can either decide for the torus to expand to fit your move, or you can choose for it to not and you just continue to slide and wrap around the board until you appear on the other side on the same rank/file/diagonal!

12. "Farsighted" Any piece with a sliding move (that can slide more than 1 square) can't slide 1 space next to itself for the duration of this event. Only 2+ spaces. This means they can't cover adjacent squares. Pieces that are NOT effected by this event are: Pawn, Pillar, King, Guard, Dwarf, Elephant. Pieces that ARE effected are: Leopard (since it can slide up to 2 squares), the Zombie, the Spider, and of course all the other infinitely-moving pieces.

13. "Blitz" Capturing pieces yields 100% of their point-worth! But pawns + pillars are not allowed to step forward for the duration to halt promotions. (They will still be allowed to defend pieces)

14. "Peace" This event activation is skipped.

15. "Walls Come Up" All rooks are transformed into barriers for the event duration.

Each event currently has a 6.7% chance of being activated upon event trigger. Once an event has been activated, the same event cannot be activated again until at least 2 other events have been activated (so, 42 updates).

Possible Event Ideas:

"Sudden Death" Anyone's king who is captured while this event is active will not lose *8% total worth + 4 health* but instead will lose *25% total worth + 3 health*!! 50% of all that goes to the capturer.

"Racing Finish Line" promotion lines go up over the course of a few turns, one square each time, and then down again.

"Quests" Random objectives will exist. Like certain zones you need to enter, or hoops you need to slide through. Completing the tasks will spawn some energy orbs randomly around your pieces.

Add a variant of the "Universe Bubbles" that will instead fill the board will obstacles rather than void.

"Rivers" A variant of the "Universe Bubbles" that creates endless lines of void above and below 8 tiles of any existing pieces (this needs some tweaking). Pieces with leaping capabilities can jump over these rivers.

(Sale) Some pieces in the shop will be clearanced.
