Chess.com vs. ChessKid from June 29, 2023 to October 9, 2025
Note: I have since left CVC. I think it's still acceptable to post this, so I will. This isn't the most complete, but it still logs history. Feel free to talk about things I missed in the comments (I probably won't add most, if not all, of them), but I will be deleting any I do not see fit to discuss. Do not harass me about leaving the club.
Chess.com vs. ChessKid (CVC for short) is one of the bigger clubs on Chess.com and is quite active with multiple forums posted each day. This is a...IDK what to call this, but it talks about different things that happened and it has screenshots and stuff.
Some things are missing due to both my 8 month vacation in 2024 and the fact that I can't log every tiny detail.
Please like this I had to dig through so much of the audit log for this-
Please note that all dates and times are in Mountain Time.
This is not meant as a public accusation blog and I am not asking you to report any of the people in this blog, even the ones who did uncool things. (putting this here because I do log spam attacks and stuff)

CVC challenged Chess.com - India to a vote chess game (https://www.chess.com/votechess/game/280021) on December 19 and gained 200+ members overnight through this challenge.
| January | February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October | November | December |
On the morning of January 1, Caleb disabled the club (a bit of elaboration from me). @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu has elaborated on this a bit for me:
"Welp, this was when he freaked out about cc social. Not sure if his parents had a hand in it or if it was just him, but this was when he decided to get rid of messages, etc etc.
So it kinda all took us by surprise when we tried to go to CVC... and whadya know it was disabled... We got like one day of warning from notes, if I remember correctly
I don't remember if there was a staff club. I have vague memories of someone somewhere convincing Caleb to undisable the club.
Then, eventually he ended up undisabling it. But left his messages still turned off as a compromise"
From what the audit log says ("Caleb341 posted news Welcome Back CVC!"), I assume he re-opened it on January 5.
The club reached 1,000 members on or around January 25 (I don't know if Caleb posted the announcement the same day or not, the same applies to all other members milestones).
@unknown_girl_coder posted a game of mafia on January 30, starting a mafia trend.
Caleb posted a forum with the goal of getting 50,000 comments on it on February 25. It reached its first sub-goal of 100 comments on the same day.

The club reached 3,000 members on or around October 23.
@Jared hosted the first official Hurt/Heal game in the club on November 14.
The reached 4,000 members on or around November 28.
Hurt/Heal 1 finished on December 5, with @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu in 1st, @tigerchess2022 in 2nd.
As of December 31, the club has around 4,800 members (it wasn't specified if that's a rounded number or an exact number).
As of December 31, the 50,000 comments forum has reached 7,760 comments and 388 pages (again no specification).
Also as of December 31, CVC is 6th on the vote chess leaderboard.
| January | February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October |
The club reached 5,000 members on or around January 6.
Jared hosted the second round of Hurt/Heal on January 6.
I decided to start a project where I log all of CVC's vote chess games on the 17th.
The VC logging project basically gets cancelled on the 1st.
@AuthorOfChickens (I'm guessing someone changed their username to impersonate me, since their join date is before mine) put my profile picture, status, and flair as theirs and started commenting on Hurt/Heal Round 2 on February 9. Their comments have been deleted, but some parts were preserved in quotes. Screenshots taken on September 4, 2025.

On February 17, @gooomy_goomy spammed the club with forums titled "Never Spam", "Why are you spamming", "Created more than 100 forums XD", "More forums are here", "I am muted", "Sorry for spamming !!", "Goomy 's Ama", and "Cassian_Cashout Da Goat" from 5:01 AM to 6:12 AM, which is when @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu came online and muted him. Goomy then left the club.
Qoi set the club to private and began deleting the 500-ish forums (25 logs per page times about 20 pages worth of Goomy posting forums so the number won't be exact). He basically single-handedly deleted all of them. Caleb helped delete later on, but Qoi deleted more.
Caleb promoted @Deflection to admin, I assume to invite the people who left because of Goomy.
Hurt/Heal 2 finished on February 18, with @flametoofast in 1st, @carlsen in 2nd, and @mjtcan in 3rd.
Hurt/Heal Round 3 started on February 19, also hosted by Jared.
@Pranavck2 (one of Viroh's alts) attempted to spam attack the club on February 22 with forums titled "Goomy revealed", but I caught him after 4 forums.
Correction from @B00M3R4NG-N3BUL4 concerning the above:
"@pranavck2 was NOT viroh, he was actually @pranavck (as evident as both are banned, pranavck (not 2) wouldn't have been banned if pranavck2 was viroh, also I vividly remember pranavck (not 2) admitting he was Pranavck2 after he knew he would get banned (like a day or two prior to ban)"
Hurt/Heal 3 finished on March 20, with @AniG6 in 1st, @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu in 2nd, and @mjtcan in 3rd.
@RwandaChessMaster started a series called "A Funny Gameshow", shortened to "AFG" on March 26. The first episode can be read here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/afg-1-climb-up-the-mountain and the CVCkipedia page can be read here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/afg-official-cvckipedia-page
Hurt/Heal Round 4 (again, hosted by Jared) started on April 11.
Caleb posted registration for Hurt/Heal Round 5 on April 17, hoping to get 1,000 players in this game.
Hurt/Heal 4 finished on May 17, with @FullCrowdedBadger in 1st, @Champion in 2nd, and @NoahdeAlwis in 3rd. Jared retired from hosting Hurt/Heal after this game.
@Old-Scool-Apex started a series called "Puzzle Of The Day" on May 22. The first puzzle can be found here: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/cvc-potd-thursday-may-22-2025-1
@BasixWhiteBoy posted a forum on the Clubs vs. OTF debate on June 14. Caleb posted an announcement in CVC on June 17 calling people to come to the defense of clubs.
On July 20, @FreeFriendlyDove announcing something that does need to be discussed here, but that should still be acknowledged. This ended with her being banned on the 21st. @Platformativeperfection then spammed the club with forums titled "Unban dve", with @F1-24 being the admin to clean up all the forums he posted.
On July 23, @GM_YappingRickroller spammed forums titled "Free dove" and "bring back dove". On the same day, @Long_kit spammed forums titled "shame on cvc" and "IJA army attack the cvc club". @NoahdeAlwis cleaned up most of the forums, with @carlsen pitching in later.
Dove later returned to the club, also on the 23rd, and everything was chill after that.
@SandyDanger and @Rayfamily posted tier lists on July 29. The tier lists are that in which members ask to be put on the tier list, and the poster of the tier list will rank them based off how much they like that person (or something else, depending on the theme). @TikiLASC_2010 posted a tier list on July 31.
On August 2, @FreeFriendlyDove posted her AMA.
On August 5, @ChessBeteigeuze, @Forsaken, @TheMidnightExpress12, and @FutureGM_Kim posted AMAs before I posted a forum asking them to stop.
@Luxob mini spam attacked the club on the 7th, posting 10 forums titled "Carlsen go better sense of humor than before" before @carlsen deleted them. He also posted his AMA on this day.
Caleb handed ownership of CVC to me on August 18 before leaving both the club and Chess.com altogether. He stated Qoi is to be next in line for ownership.

The above screenshot was taken on September 26 so that's why the backgrounds don't match.

On September 1, I handed ownership over to Qoi after deciding I don't want to be owner anymore. After the members assumed this meant I was leaving and posted forums and notes asking me not to leave, I grew tired of them both assuming giving ownership to Qoi meant I was leaving and freaking out about the idea of me leaving and left the club.
I returned on September 2 to find @carlsen had filled the empty super admin spot.
As of September 4, @Forsaken has made 600+ daily matches for the club, I assume including cancelled matches and unaccepted seeks.
Also as of September 4, the club has 7,410 members. I'm not sure if this counts closed accounts or not, although I did sync the member count before adding the number.
On September 5, @BermudanPM claims that "The end is nigh" (read bottom to top)

@carlsen posted an Ask Me Anything on September 14, starting a trend. On the 15, @The-Solidus-Snake, @BermudanPM, @TheMidnightExpress12, @FreeFriendlyDove, @Marie_Hoa, @hyperinactive, @Agentnoggin, @user_314720589, @Darth_Bane900, @Deflection, @Haha-Hi-1, @cupidilxz, @SpaceChess, @GuytheGreat54321 posted AMAs, totaling 14 forums, not counting Carlsen's post.
@carlsen posted a forum updating people on Hurt/Heal Round 5 on September 15, stating that none of the admins have the list of 1,000 players.

The club reached 7,500 members on September 30.

I asked Qoi what his thoughts and opinions of running CVC are on October 3. This is his response:
"In one sentence? "ohmigoshthisjobissohard" bur seriously, Caleb is a genius, confirmed
I would say (and I'm guessing you'd agree) that the burden/responsibility of leadership on its own is difficult enough. Like, I'm in charge. That means that if I screw up, it's on me... I'm not just making suggestions to Caleb anymore, and that's really scary to me. So I'm still kinda figuring all this out, but ima do my best to channel my inner Caleb and hopefully everything will work out
But it's not all bad either.
I absolutely love interacting with CVC's members and planning with staff. To be able to have the greatest possible role in the club I love most? That's a dream. It really is."
@F1-24 stepped down from being Super Admin on October 4.

I leave the club once again on October 9 after events I do not need to discuss in any blog.
As of the 9th, @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu is the only one of the original Super Admins to remain.
The October 2025 Legacy List (list of active people who asked to be on the list throughout the month), as of October 9, is as follows:

Things that didn't necessarily have a place in the main text but that are still noteworthy.
I joined the club on November 4, 2023.
Thank you to @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu for the screenshots he provided and for helping me figure out who the people in said screenshots were, as well as helping me with figuring out when the Goomy incident happened and just for his help in general.
Thank you to @Admiral_ChessBeard for confirming my, Qoi, and Forsaken's guess of the last coord in the January 17, 2025 staff list being him. You saved me from doing what could have been a lot of digging.
Thank you to @Forsaken for sending me the October Legacy List after I had left.
Thank you to everyone else who helped me in whatever way and to the nice people I met in CVC.
