Chess.com vs. ChessKid's Closing

The owner of CVC has told me that I may blog about this event, but not to post screenshots. I will respect his wishes.

Update: CVC has been re-opened and there are no longer admins besides the owner.

As some of you may already know, Chess.com vs. ChessKid was closed on the morning of January 1, 2024. The owner of the club closed it due to personal reasons, and as of posting this blog, it is still closed. He explained it in his blog, a forum in one of the clubs I'm in, and the notes in one of the clubs I'm in.

But, CVC may be coming back. The owner said he contacted support about opening the club again, as multiple members (including me) were "complaining" (I can't think of a better word) about the club being closed.

We've been chatting in the notes of CVC (as you apparently can still access the notes and forums of closed clubs), and the owner said there's a 75% chance the club will be re-opened. The 25% chance of it not being re-opened is because of staff possibly not re-opening it.

The owner said he still won't be as active in the club, so he promoted multiple admins to watch the club, including me (Thanks!).

Fun fact: CVC had over 800 members before it closed.
