Year in Review: 2023
Well, that was chaotic. Actually, every year is chaotic. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that 2023 is ending and 2024 is beginning. I have a lot to talk about, even though I joined in September. So let's get started.
My Chess.com Timeline
September 14: Hello Chess.com!
I created my account. This also happens to be the 1st anniversary of Unusual Birds Chess Club.
October 14: The Holiday Club
I created my first club and named it The Daily Chess Match Players. This club was renamed multiple times until I ended up with The Holiday Club.
October 22: The Return of @Ehm42
You've probably heard about @Ehm42. Or @QuantumVerse100. Or his latest account, @UnstoppableQuasar. That's when I first heard about him. His first two accounts got banned for abuse because he trolled and harassed people. But then he wrote a letter to Chess.com and apologized. They gave him an account. He had been the owner of The Great and Extraordinary Chess Club, and @Scemer handed ownership of the club back to him once his mute was lifted.
November 4: The Other Club Incident + My First Blog Post
@Dancemaster_13 posted a forum in The Other Club saying that he was hosting a diamond membership giveaway. But, the forum was deleted after sometime, and it's basically confirmed that the membership giveaway was a "scam" to get more members. November 9: Fox Lovers Unite
My second club on Chess.com!
November 26: Paladins of Chess Incident
@dexapkhrell, an Admin of Paladins of Chess, banned all the members and then left. Paladins of Chess lost 900+ hard earned members. I had left the club a few days earlier for personal reasons, but when I saw a note in a club about joining Paladins of Chess because it lost all its members, I rejoined. November 30: My First Club Giveaway
I started a club giveaway after CVC posted a giveaway.
December 13: Farewell, @UnstoppableQuasar
I don't know what happened, but @UnstoppableQuasar's account was closed for abuse. I doubt he'll be back. Hopefully he wasn't mass reported just for being @Ehm42.
December 14: Unusual Birds Chess Club hits 600 Members
Yay!
December 19: Top Gun Fans
My third club on Chess.com!
December 20: CVC Blows Up
Apparently Chess.com vs. ChessKid gained 200+ members overnight after they challenged Chess.com India.
