Using Chess to Tell a Story on Television

For centuries, story tellers have used chess as a tool to tell a story. Television shows and movies are no exception. Its viewers can relate to chess, because most of them know what it is and how to play it to some degree. This is why so many screen writers and authors use chess in their scripts, articles, and novels.

Below are posts of television episodes and movies that use chess in mostly fictional settings, drama or comedy. Not included is chess coverage of lessons, instructional videos, tournaments, or championship matches (although Jeopardy! is an exception). This list will grow as time allows me to write more posts.
