Afternoon Everyone.

Something quick today whilst dinner is cooking! Off on holiday tomorrow, and, as usual, I will be taking a chess book with me to go through.

Thanks to my dearest chess friend I have just received this book.

Those who have been following my stuff over the years will know that he is one of my very favourite players of the era.

Two earlier posts that you might want to go take a look at :-

Loads of amazing chess there - as well as in the comments to them.

It's a really nice book!! Better than I had expected. One feature is a series of articles by different players giving games of Kupreichik which they particularly remember, and various stories behind them.

Boris Gelfand gives one which I remember well too. It was in the first copy of Informator that I ever bought, and it started my love affair with Kupreichik's chess.

No time to mess about, but I have spent a few hours with the game and noted my thoughts as I go along, so the article today is really in the notes. Plus you get some of the genius of Ivanchuk as well! Bonus!!

Kupreichik's opponent was this man:-

Tseshkovsky against Tal during the tournament. Griffin on Twitter.

No mean player at the time! The game was part of Kupreichik's incredible start to the tournament - sadly it all went pear shaped in the last few rounds. Enjoy the game!!

See you all next week, guys.
