The official site for advanced-chess is - the international correspondence chess federation ! They follow the tradition that any aid is implicitly allowed - so nothing prohibits engines there, and i'll say no one dares to play there without access to lots of computers :( It is funny that the rules talk of postmarks-deciding-date-move-was-made; what to do in case of illegible postmark ...  [they do explicitly mention that you *may* use email :)] Many top players are in famous universities - i've heard of 22 networked computers guided by salaried GMs who are experts at handling engines ... :( :)

My apologies if this has been established already, but has this group defined any conventions for AC games? From what I can gather, they need to be unrated (not sure about whether Live-vs-Online makes a difference). What about time?  Also, how do we indicate that it's an AC game as opposed to a non-AC game?  I don't recall seeing any settings or notes-area when creating a game challenge (but then again I didn't deeply explore). Regards, Babyferatu

Does anyone know a place where I can download a free pgn database? I've seen many sites for downloading  individual games but not one for a whole database. If you want a Java based database ------>   http://www.chesslab.com/PositionSearch.html

Kasparov himself once said that Advance chess is fast gaining interest in the chess circle. Advance chess is a combination of human and computer analysis in finding the right move and strategy. It's fun and interesting and one's understanding of the position become more in-dept.I am currently using Fritz 11 and running  it  on Pentium 4 2.1 at 1 gig ram.  I am using my software to analyze grandmaster play and it provided me better understanding of the games.Perhaps we can use this forum to post some finnish games we had and analyze it more in dept using our availabla computers.
