Kind of sad how dead this club is. Used to be very active. I would know. Many of you probably don't know me, but look at the link and you will understand. https://www.chess.com/clubs/members/beginners-and-masters?sortType=join_date_asc If you're worried about rickroll just copy paste link into search bar or something.

Dear Chess Friends! I believe every chess player wants to attack in a chess game. It’s easier to attack rather than defend. Moreover, if you make a mistake during the attack, you are unlikely to lose the game. But if you make a mistake being in defending the position, it may be decisive. What if I say that sometimes to be able to continue the attack on the enemy king you have to play a move with your own king first? There are actually 3 types of moves you can make in the game in order to support your attack: activization of the king, prophylaxis & escaping with the king to make a way for more pieces to join the attack. For example, like it happens in this position when White played 1.Ke2 to be able to join the a-rook to the game. The ability to make such moves with the king in time is part & parcel of many attack and this is why I’m going to teach you on my next 124th webinar “Attacking Moves with the King”. The webinar starts on Sunday (15st of May) at 10 a.m. (EDT), 2 p.m. (GMT), 5 p.m. (Moscow time). This webinar is free. After some issues with the Tournament Organizers, my online classical tournament has started back up again. This match was against the #1 seed and was a really tight game all the way through

Agadmator just posted this one. I think many of you will enjoy this.

White has a 42 material advantage, but it can't capture anything that's defended without losing material

Hey Chess Players! It’s time to play chess! Not everyone wants to learn to chess, but everyone wants to play it! So, let’s practice and play a few games to implement the ideas you learned! This week instead of our regular webinar I decided to conduct a Blitz Simul! I’m glad to announce our New Simultaneous Exhibition format where you can play against me! And, of course, you will also get feedback about your moves and mistakes. We keep our blitz game format. I don’t want to run many games simultaneously this time; I’m going to play a short blitz game with everyone in turn (3’+2” or 5’+3”)! Ready to demonstrate your chess skills and play against a FIDE Master? Come and join our Blitz Simul this Sunday! You will for sure get some helpful experience. How does this new format work? You can attend this webinar as a player or just a spectator. You can choose the time control (3’+2” or 5’+3”). When I start the stream, just log into your chess.com account and send me a challenge (unrated). Don’t forget to send a friend request first. My nickname on chess.com is Gertsog. If you want to be a spectator – just come to the webinar, look at the screen, suggest moves and lines or just comment it. I’m going to comment my moves and ideas too! What do you get from such a webinar? First of all, you get an opportunity to play with a titled chess player. Second, you will learn how the master thinks: What to take into account before making a move What is useless (or doesn’t deserve our attention) How to evaluate the position And how to come with a plan in a complicated position If we have enough time, after finishing the games we can analyze them. The webinar starts on Sunday (8th of May) at 10 a.m. (EDT), 2 p.m. (GMT), 5 p.m. (Moscow time). No fees. Everything is free, just subscribe to my Twitch or YouTube channels:https://www.twitch.tv/tricks_of_chesshttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfk1bxCgvfhNRPtUZs0FWOw See you on a Simul!FM Victor Neustroev
On the last move the computer says "Nice win! This is the start of endgame and Black is winning"

Here is more materials to practice your endgame calculation skills on! 1a. Evaluate the following position with black to move. Who is winning, or is this a draw? Should black take on f4 or guard his own pawn on c5? 1b. A few moves later, this position was reached, once again with black to move. Who is winning here, or is this a draw? 1c. A few more moves later, this position was reached. Black has one move here that holds equality, while all other move loses(!). Find this move, and try to find the best plan for black to create a fortress: 1d. Again, evaluate this position. Who is winning, or is this a draw? 1e. White has just played Kg3??, blundering away all his advantage. Black must find the only move to hold the draw. What is this move? 1f. Black has just played the losing Ka6??, and white is completely winning if he finds the only move (once again). Find this move for white: Hope you enjoyed those and found them helpful. Here is the game (I was white) where all of those position came from: https://www.chess.com/game/live/45435608321

Sorry for almost no posts in a long time lol kinda forgets this club exists :/ Evaluating endgames correctly is a vital skill we must all have, because it allows us to find the correct (Usually only) moves in endgames that converts the advantage or holds the draw, and it lets us correctly evaluate trades that leads to those endgames. Here is some examples for you to practice your evaluating skills on, all taken from my games (recently): 1. Evaluate this position with white to move. Who is winning, or is this a draw? What is the best move by white? 2. White has just played 42. b4??, losing the game on the spot. There is only move for black that leads to a winning position. What is the move? (I definitely am not the idiot that played b4) 3a. This is an opposite colored bishops endgame, where white is a pawn up but has connected passed pawns on the queenside. Evaluate this position. Is white winning, losing, or is this a draw? 3b. A couple of moves later, we got to this position, with white to move. Is this winning, losing, or drawn for white? 3c. A few more moves later, this position was reached, where white has just played b6. Is this position winning, losing, or drawn for white?

Here at Bizmark opening innovations we are not really committed to finding interesting new ideas to play in the opening. Actually, I'm not really committed to anything. That is because creativity cannot be rushed, so dedication to such a pursuit is not in the spirit of creative play. Today's opening prep will be against the english opening. The english is probably my favorite opening due to the fact that you can do pretty much anything as either color, and still obtain an equal position. Funny, isn't it? As black, today:

Yep 2 in one game. And I don't have a mouse so I will explan the game a bit. At the start there is not much to tell other then us to try to get good def for our kings while making each other weaker. The game went nowhere til I blunder my knight. He got the knight and was looking at his next move to be Qxb5 to threating mate but when Qd7 made this game in my favor. (No hate to this guy please) I was inside of his head at this point so I when hammering his pieces. After winning the bish, He when to go get the pawn out on my queenside which I block with my bish WHICH was a mistake but he didn't see to try to get my queen. So me having the upper hand use the 2nd rook to try to get his queen. And he thought about trading queens. For a 600 player like me my first thought is to get each other queens but my bish is protecting the rook while having one on the same square. Took some time and then it hit me. He has no way to save his rooks or queen (if my queen dies) so I did the Brilliant move Qxd8 which he did take my rook then I see it all. So I took his queen making his rook and last major piece winnable. Which makes him resign. It was a good game ngl maybe the best starting game I ever had.

Happy April Fools Day! April 1, 2025: “The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentlemen. The ability to play chess well is a sign of a wasted life.” -Paul Morphy, GM. (Do you think he stole this quote from his dad who shamed him into quitting chess?)
