I started doing a preliminary ChessGoals plan a year ago and it has gone great. I enjoy studying chess and playing more games finally. The consistency of the plan and the results is very reassuring. If you’re serious about consistent gains, you really need to try it

I always heard that analysis without engine is most important. But then we can't use chess.com features like key mistakes or whatever. So where is the true? Is analysis only with brain overrated when it comes to progress?

Week 1 Bullet Rating- 1058 ( out of 79 games) Blitz Rating- 1044 ( out of 62 games) Rapid Rating- 1580 (out of 3 games) Daily Rating- N/A yet ( Just started my first 2 simultaneous games) Puzzle Rating as of today is 1671 (out of 148 attempts) Hello Everybody, I've been a casual chess player for a few years now and a few months ago I decided I really wanted to improve. I have been through a number of chess lessons ( I think as of today 86 lessons). I really like the instructional videos so far and I plan on going through 40 minutes of video lessons per week as required in the study plan. I've also used the Tactics Trainer but mostly the learning feature and not rated. I plan to add Jeremy Silman's "How to Reassess Your Chess" and PAWN STRUCTURES The Crash Course with IM Bryan Solano Cuya for extra studying BUT only after I have completed my other work from the Study Plan first. The study plan requires 6-10 hours of playing and studying per week, but I'm going to aim for 14 hours a week giving me 2 hrs a day to improve ( I don't have kids or a girlfriend so I got the extra time...yay?) I also created Quizlet cards to help me drill Tactical, Positional, and Pawn Structure Motifs ( there is also Endgame stuff as well) for those of you interested here is the link: https://quizlet.com/524325010/simplified-chess-flash-cards/ Note: there are additional links on the study cards if you have trouble accessing them let me know and ill make them available to everyone in my Quizlet settings. I think the challenges will be sticking with the program and also carefully allocating the appropriate time to each section of the game. Luckily the Study Plan gives me an idea of how long to spend on each section, but it'll take time to get the routine down perfectly.

Chess.com just released a new analysis tool that looks awesome! I made a quick video showing some of the new features. Thanks Chess.com, I'm looking forward to putting this to good use. https://youtu.be/sVY_E-_8DCQ
