I started week one of Beginner 1 today and completed the assignments for day 1. My performance in the games I've played so far is nothing to brag about. What matters is I am learning and enjoying myself, even enjoying the losses. I am looking forward to a casual game with a physical board and a human being across from me, live in person. I'd like to be able to chat a bit while playing as well. I didn't think I'd like timed games (rapid 15+10) but it resolved a conflict I have had in the back of my mind about chess for years. I suspect I didn't play because I had the perception chess games would drag on for hours. Maybe it's the attention deficit disorder or something that made me reluctant to invest in something that could stretch on for longer than a half-hour. I discovered I actually like timed games. I've played two. Now I see I can set a timer and play only for the duration I'm willing to invest at a particular time. I'm a bit challenged when it turns out I'm playing the dark side. I've spent most of the time since I decided to dig into chess looking at things from the light side. The board looks strange to me when I flip it around. I started my first daily game playing the light-colored side. I made the first move, and now my opponent has 3 days. I'm still waiting after nearly 24 hours to see the dark side make the second half of move 1. Enough for today. Thank you for stopping by to read.

I was much better at chess but lately I have lost a lot of rating. I hope to change that by starting this study plan. Current Ratings: Puzzle --> 1788 (don't have a paid account on chess.com so have to play puzzles on lichess) Daily --> 1324 Blitz --> 685 (want to raise it to 820 by end of the study plan) Rapid --> 823 (want to raise it to 1100 by t the end of the study plan)

Subject: Hello! Dear Chessmates, I'm Haibane, happy to join ChessGoals group. I've been hooked on chess for a month, and I'm eager to grow alongside you all. Right now i am 609 elo in rapid. (Trying to reach 1000)I'm here to both learn and share insights. Excited to dive into discussions, swap strategies, and make strides together! Best, Haibane.
Hello, I'm currently following the intermediate study plan from ChessGoal and am excited to begin today! As an enthusiastic adult chess player, I'm eager to improve my skills. My current FIDE rating is around 1650. My training regimen will consist of 60% playing time (with time controls of 5+5 and 15+10) and 40% devoted to tactics and video lessons on chess.com. I plan to dedicate at least 1 hour daily to this, but I'll cap it at 1.5 hours to avoid excessive involvement in chess (can be addicted!! ). I intend to regularly update my progress in the forum. Also, I'm interested in playing 15+10 games with post-game reviews, ideally with players around my skill level. If you're interested in a match, please feel free to send me a message.
Hello all. Hope everyone is having fun with their chess journey. I'm starting this study plan so that I can have some consistency, and so I can stop bouncing around studying "this, that, and the other." I have quite a big gap between my blitz and rapid rating and I'm hoping this study plan will help me to reduce blunders in my blitz games. Good luck to everyone.
I see many people doing course plan it's not necessary become everyone has diffrent brain identify your own weaknesses and make your own plan 👍

Hello everyone! Happy to be a part of this group. I'm hoping the study plan will help me improve my endgames and hang on to better fundamentals in the opening and middlegame. I'm currently ~750 in Blitz and 1000-1100 in Rapid. I'd love to play some daily games with people in the group and am open to challenges.

Hi all, Started my plan this week Blitz N/A Rapid 717 Daily 963 Puzzle 1345
I accidentally posted before posting my rating sorry about that. My rating are low because I am learning new openings and I been away from the game
Hello! I'm new here. I see that the custom is to begin by posting your rating. I have been playing somewhat regularly since summer. Before that it was decades since I played, and even then, I had never played in an organized tournament. Looking forward to refining and improving my game! I've tried blitz and rapid but am focusing on daily games so I can think and plan as I learn.Daily: 1067Puzzles: 1884Rapid: 924Blitz: 831
Hi I finally got my study plan in order. Since I was away from the game a while I start a prerequisite skills before beginning. For beginning and intermediate players I high recommend Learning Chess the Right Way by Susan Polgar. After I am finish all four books I will begin Yusupov series. I wanted a solid chess foundation so I been watching excellent endgame series under 2000. Chessmood has excellent videos on endgame and opening. After watching Matt and a student on Chess.com, gave me a better perspective on a better method of evaluating my game. First I have two spreadsheet: first one overview how the game win lose and how I played in each stage. Second spreadsheet keep tracts of my blunders, miss checkmate or tactic etc. What I really learn from Matt blot was to actually what I taken away from the game such as why I blunder, the miss win and inaccuracies but also the phycological, was I nervous, rush a move etc
Let’s get to it! Most games will be in lichess to preserve Rating here. Chess.com- 1330 Lichess-1490
