I know you guys might think this is just coping some1’s idea, but actually I’ve been wanted to make this since 2022! But the regular chess, Lame, B tier. Try to make something else! I think it’s time to make something better! I will be rating the chess 2.0 and you can make it any size, piece, rules, anything! Or if you want to make a new variant but got no idea, I got some ideas from ikea! (lol jk) . Hello all! There's been a lot more forum threads posted recently since we've seen a 300 member increase in the last week! It's pretty exciting to see a lot of new people around. That being said, if you've been in the Chess.com Community club, you've probably also seen what increases when members increase... spam. In the last week I've had to delete 6 forum threads for being completely off-topic or low-effort which is why you might've gotten a few errors when clicking on notifications for this club.  For example, some posts are like this: Or like this: hi As a reminder, 2800+ people get a notification whenever you post a forum thread, simply posting a board without anything else at all does not qualify as a post that has effort put into it and is spam and wastes everybody's time. At the very least, explain the context behind the post (i.e., why is this interesting?) and perhaps provide some analysis. As long as the bare minimum is done and the post is custom variants related, then we don't really mind; heck, post Lichess related stuff for all I care P.S., mini-modding is disallowed per the forum rules. I know a lot of the rule-breaking stuff is obvious and I've been lax about enforcing this particular rule; but please do not link your fellow players to information that is not relevant to them (e.g., someone makes a post about a variant they made that they thought was cool and 50 people spam the "requirements for submission" link in the thread). If you want to submit a variant for review, please check the pinned threads in the forum! In addition, https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/custom-variants-club-directory is an extremely helpful resource with multiple guides that I have compiled of how to submit variants, make variants, terminology, etc. As always, please review the forum rules at https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/forum-rules-12. Even though it's been 3 years, the rules still remain the same, but you should still definitely look at them from time to time. Happy variant creating!

So I made a cool map I call "Mediterranean Chess" (name is subject to change) and I think it would be a good fit on because its like regular chess, but I swap the pieces some better some worse and added a couple more to make it a weird game of trying to get your elephants to the right position to win and it can be easier or harder for certain people. (I'm evil too and made it so there alfil riders in places that make them almost useless for capturing pieces like the king or the amazon (in place of the queen)) But here's the problem, I can't put it on to or anything! I hope I can do something to get my custom variant on the list.

Each player have a Royal Sergeant (A pawn that moves and captures forward and diagonally) and basically unlimit amount of Pawns and Pawn variant pieces. Pawn and its variant pieces can move sideways, always jumps two squares (Torpedo) and no promotion. Those dead Sergeants prevent too early attack.

Now that we're in August, almost 23 weeks have passed since we restarted Golden Variants in February, and Golden Variant still remains one of the most popular arenas on the server today. As our testing team has increased to 10 members, we've been working hard on reviewing every variant that has been submitted. NCVs are extremely tricky to make, especially when considering the requirement of balance and the ever-increasing need for uniqueness of variants! One outstanding variant that has been featured in the Golden Variant arenas is Minihouse (by @MrKheese), featured in Week 9 & 15, and now boasts 500+ games daily with 300+ active players! We recently added it to the "Featured" section in 2P variants, marking the first time we've promoted a variant from the "Extra" category. Who knows? The second week (8/9) will be a 168-hour arena of Sparks of Hope, the 2nd most recently accepted NCV. The third week (8/16) will be a 72-hour arena of the winner of the 4P Teams vote.  The fourth week (8/23) will be a 72-hour arena of the winner of the 2P vote. The fifth week (8/30) will be a 168-hour arena of the winner of the Platinum Variant vote.  The 2P vote and 4P Teams vote will be made up of preselected options by the CGAs. Wait, what's Platinum Variant? Platinum Variant is an honor given to a variant about every 3 months for successfully being voted for or featured in a Golden Variant arena, and then reselected for the Platinum Variant. As it's been a while since we did the last Platinum Variant, it wouldn't really make sense to have a vote between 21 variants, which would be way too cramped; so, using arena play statistics, the CGA team has picked out the 5 best options: Ambush (by FM @coolthing)  Blind Box (by @Kumiyno and @Lingox) Behind the Mirror (by @samuelysfung) Thermopylae (by @noahfavelo) Warui-shogi (by @Dan-kyu_system) Obviously, it wouldn't be too fair to do Minihouse again, but these variants have proven themselves to be widely popular as well!
