How many groups are you admin in excluding those under 5 people. This can be a competition for fun.

Hi i resurect groups that never talk. I'm part of 30 groups and bring up a few topics to get a conversation going (take right now for example) however some groups don't talk back. 1 Group im in called sports fans hadn't had any conversation since early december untill i posted about the superbowl a little ago and that got some conversation going but now it's dead again. Any ides to get these groups talking. P.S. I got the manager position of Teenz handed to me due to the fact i was the only 1 ever to had posted anything.

Hi, I'm a 27 year old from New Zealand. I manage Kiwis .  I started this group because I thought it would be handy and possibly enjoyable to have a direct connection to all the other group leaders. This way we can share our ideas on how to improve and grow the groups we are responsible for, we can organise matches against each other and we can get to know one and other too.

Hey guys, I had a great idea. I reflected on the fact that, truth be told, none of our groups are in cometition, they just cater to different interests, and really, I'm a member of like 5 groups myself, SOHere's my idea - I want to create a thread, with all of your help, of course, which would be one epic "group" thread, whereby we appeal to people that don't check the groups link ever. Look - rather than advertise all of our groups seperately, let's make a really cool thread whereby we introduce our group and give a blurb to what it is about. Now, I don't want to do this for every group on the site - just the really pertinent ones.I'm imagining a thread that is like this...  (and yeah, I'm summarizing and being a tad silly just to give you the jist):Hey everyone on chess.com, did you know your chess.com experience can be even better by joining in one of these groups? We have a lot of interesting niche gatherings you might want to be a part of, for instance:The Dream Teamrun by: DalmatinacOverall idea: yaddy yaddyetc All you need to do is post a 3-6 sentence blurb about what your group is about in this thread and I'll include you, okay? I'll cook this puppy up, and hopefully get all of us new members!!!

The reason why I left the above group is simple. I don't trust CaptainJoe or his group. I do not know what to think of him, however I've quit the above team and wish them well in the weeks ahead.
Well, I've been campaigning for "Best Group Manager of the Year" for many months now, but since Chesskween has thrown her hat into the mix, I haven't been able to post a single comment anywhere. I'd feel too guilty competing against her. So I'm switching my campaign to "Member of the Year" since it's the only other one that I'm in contention for (although I was a lot closer in the other one). Good Luck Jane. I'll tell people to vote for you. I hope you do the same for me. hi, guyes, can you have a look: http://www.chess.com/forum/view/tournaments/arena-match-between-teams and we could discuss there or here, and we could have a try to find its fun. thanks
Hey guys,I'm new to the whole group administration thing but I have to say that the ability to ban/delete/control the messages is pretty titilating... I hope to never have to use it, of course, but isn't it neat that it's there? Kindof thrilling.I was curious if any of you have ever had to ban anyone from your groups so far. If so, what was their offense? How did your group take it?Being a group moderator is a cool responsibility. I have high hopes that everyone in my group will stay super classy.
I hear word that this will soon start; See the news in Team Canada and The American Group places. Does anyone have any additional information on this?
can there be a tournament were two groups have at it? is that possible?
Do you like the idea of groups having their own theme (colour scheme)? I saw a few nice ones while I was going through the groups to contact and invite managers. I like the idea of national groups having a theme based on their nations sporting colours. When I chose this groups theme I picked one that is fairly popular and well associated with chess.com. Should we have a unique group theme?

How did you go about getting members for your group? Any ideas on good ways to reach the type of constituents that are appropriate or you desire?  The group I manage is a national group so it was pretty easy for me. I just went to the members page, searched New Zealand and contacted first all of the most active members then the most recently logged in. I restricted my invitations to people whom had some games going and/or had quite a few points. I like people to be at least a little bit proven before accepting them into the group. Thoughts?

My apologies on the bad link I sent everyone  dunno how that happened.  It would be great to hear any ideas on what could be done with this group. Eg. "Hopefully we can create a sort of group/team ladder type tournament" one interesting suggestion already.  I hope that everyone feels free to start threads about anything they want. You all know how tricky it can be to generate group activity but you are mostly pretty active chess.com members so we have no excuse for difficulties here   If any of you have admins in your group, you are welcome to invite them to join this group [edit: nevermind we decided against this idea] . Also I couldn't send an invite to 48 pages worth of group managers so If any of you have a friend who runs a group that isn't here, please invite them.
