Hello everyone! Recently, I've been studying the Van't Kruijs Opening (A00) on Lichess. It might sound strange, but this opening is extremely effective, especially if you're a positional player. If you're interested, you can click on this link ( https://lichess.org/study/9KkRy4Hx/jEnRpwui ). Oh, and you don't need an account on Lichess! Maybe, in the future, I will create versions in other languages. Anyway, if you have any questions or suggestions, please send them in the chat here or in the study. Note: I also have the content in Portuguese, though I don't know if there are many Portuguese speakers here. Anyway, the link is ( https://lichess.org/study/gwUAZfQ4/hjTUyMwR ).

White to play. Can you spot the right move?

I was thinking about a position were the best thing to do for withe is promoting a pawn to a rook, and I came up with this. White to move. The Idea is that promoting the pawn to a queen ends the game with a draw by stealmate, while with a rook black has to move the king to A1; the game ends with Rh1#.   Let me know if you ever heard about a position like that or another one where the best move is promoting a pawn to a rook or a bishop.

Have you heard of the Budapest Gambit? Have you tried it yourself? If not, it starts 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5, as shown below: While not an opening that you can earn a badge for on chess.com, it is a rare and fun attacking gambit, as the main idea is for white to take with 3. dxe5 and for black to respond with Ng4. There are some main lines after that, which you can learn about in lessons or on youtube probably (I have been learning from Simon William's brief course here on chess.com). Here is a sample opening you could find yourself in:  As you can see, this position is 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5 3. dxe5 Ng4 4. Nf3 Bc5 5. e3 Nc6 6. Be2 Ngxe5 7. Nxe5 Nxe5, and black has a nice position with some good development and more to come. It would be awesome if one of our admins (or whoever can) would make a tournament for the Budapest Gambit     So, have YOU played the Budapest Gambit? What do you think about this opening? Feel free to challenge me to a daily game (as white or black) if you want to try playing it with me!

You can also make your own topic here on the forums! Just remember, on the forums, only discuss what the topic is. If you'd like to discuss random things, use the live chat. If you'd like to make a comment, not necessarily chatting, use notes!
