Dear Chess Friends, One of my students played a really interesting attacking game online. I think it was an instructive one, so I made a video of it, starting with the critical middlegame position. Here is the link to that: https://www.patreon.com/posts/smash-opponents-119714735?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link The main topics what you can learn from this video: - Keep the opponent's king in the middle by creating new threats all the time - Open the files, diagonals in front of the opponent's king - The destructive sacrifice - Various tactical motives I hope you'll find it useful. If you like it and you want to see my private educational videos, you can subscribe to my Patreon channel. I upload 4-8 hours of videos / month and you can learn about openings, strategies, tactics and endgames, too. I also upload daily puzzles in 4 levels every day. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write to me. Kind regards, Gabor
Is there a point criteria written somewhere that I'm missing? do I need to avoid certain players if I know I'm not getting any points for winning? or is this a bug in Chess.com? Sometimes I feel discourage because I don't know if the game is being rated. Has anyone experienced winning games and only getting +7 (rating) but not +15 (division points)?

Hello everyone, I am doing a math project on statistics and I need to find out the IQ and Elo of many different players. I created a google form for this. Please follow the instructions in the form. It would help me so much if you would do this. Thank you!!! Here is the link to the form: https://forms.gle/k46jBY1eEqepRFHZ6
Greetings! Bottom line:HOW CAN I IMPROVE AT CHESS TACTICS???  I’m new to chess (playing for about 3.5 months) and I suck at tactics and recognizing patterns. Do I focus on puzzles specifically for pins, skewers, double attacks, etc.? Do I only focus on puzzle rush and/daily puzzles? Do I practice puzzles OTB and/or online? Can anyone suggest a schedule to practice puzzles and share their experiences with learning tactics? My apologies for multiple questions. I’ve been receiving great advice from this club thus far. Thank you very much in advance!!!

Dear Chess Friends, I played an OTB game in which a really instructive position occurred on the board, so I made a video about it, starting with the critical position. You can watch the full video (24 mins) with a FREE subscription to my Patreon channel here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/intuitive-and-119289342?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link The main topics what you can learn from this video: -  What is the intuitive/positional sacrifice? -  What do we get after an intuitive sacrifice? -  What is the effect of the intuitive sacrifice on the opponent? -  How to attack the king in the middle? -  A lot of tactical motives through beautiful lines I hope you'll find it useful. I upload 4-8 hours of videos / month and you can learn about openings, strategies, tactics and endgames, too. I also upload daily puzzles in 4 levels every day. The Wrong Way to Teach Beginners Chess: As a professional chess trainer, one of the most common mistakes I see with beginners is the reliance on boring, overly complex openings and positional concepts too early. Introducing intricate strategies and long-term plans can overwhelm new players and stunt their development. Instead, focus on building a strong foundation with basic tactics like forks, pins, and skewers. Encourage open, dynamic positions where they can practice piece coordination and the importance of initiative. Gambits, while risky, can offer valuable learning experiences and teach them how to think actively. The ultimate goal is to make chess fun and engaging while ensuring they learn core principles that will allow them to improve quickly.
