The armies of any side mate the royal wazir of blue or green.(HYPOTHETICAL COULD HAPPEN BUT DONT HAVE ANY GAMES OF IT) 2.The armies my stale mate blue or green by taking all their pieces (STALEMATE LOSS) 3. A very nice beginner submission, though the game-play doesn't feel enjoyable due to some reasons, such as the extremely un-harmonized pieces synergy and the weird movement of partners' tempo. For example, sergeants are extremely strong under the nature of petrified, while the restricted pieces of Red's and Yellow's, such as grasshoppers feels useless and awkward to move all the times. Also, we do think the main-army side, BG in game should be RY instead, too. Additionally, there're a lot better take similar but much better to this such as Blind Box. Over all, this is a very nice beginner submission, but it also has a lot problems on the other hand. We are looking forward to a revision who is more balanced and simple, while having harmonize pieces synergy!

Analyzing the materials, it seems that red has stronger opening tempos and more attacking combinations with knights and bishops, while yellow takes the material advantage with rook-combined jumpers.  After testing, we found that both sides' main strategy are different, being red develops and attacks quickly; yellow finds proper space-controlling moves and using rook-combined pieces to counter.  There're many different opinions on which side is better and everyone has his own reason, nevertheless we believe the difference actually creates a balance and fun game!

We aimed to make this playable on a regular chessboard, so all of my state variants must start from the standard chess position. You know how it's freezing cold in Alaska? Well, now, almost all of your pieces are frozen. Unless, they are orthogonally right next to a rook (yours or not). Rooks provide warmth for the four squares surrounding it. In Alaska Chess, you can only move pieces that are orthogonally right next to a rook, unless they are a pawn or a knight-related piece. You do not have to move to a square that is orthogonally right next to a rook. Pawns and knight-related pieces can escape the cold becuase reindeers can survive the snow, and freezing the pawns will make an uninteresting variant. Alaska Chess is standard chess but played with only the Alaska gamerule. Interference with existing chess.com variants gamerules: - If Sacred Royal is enabled, kings can move through the icy cold. - If a piece has a freeze spell on it, it can not move, even right next to a rook. Because Alabama is famous for it's college football and footballers move really fast, why not make the pawns move faster by allowing pawns to move THREE squares instead of 2 (on the pawn's starting rank)? This is something simple for the first variant, but I'm sure the next few states will get more exciting and complicated.  Alabama Pawns is the gamerule allowing pawns to move one, two or three squares when the pawns are on the starting rank. Pawns still capture like normal, unless THERE IS THE ALABAMA EN PASSANT, which states that if a pawn moves three squares forward, and an opposing pawn then moves three squares to a square directly behind it on the next move, YOU CAN TAKE THE PAWN BY GOING SIDEWAYS!!!!!!!! (provided that you play it immediately right after). For example: if a pawn moves from d2 to d5, and an opposing pawn moves from e7 to e4, the pawn on d5 may move to e5 and capture the pawn from e4. Alabama Chess is standard chess but played with the Alabama Pawns gamerule. Though, there're some problems met: Firstly, in testing games, 80% games ended with hopper blundering. You gotta get that familiar to make it playable, but it may took endless games to learn.  Secondly, It's extremely hard for yellow to play, not only because they're naturally distracted by the sidetrack, but also the game-play itself. In game, yellow must be really careful, not blundering any weakness in 3rd rank, to reduce king's checking ability. Any moves, for example, e3-c3, may be considered as blunder chain. That strongly restricted yellow's development and pieces dynamics. We also tried to fix by making the hopper royal instead, but then yellow lost its progressing ways, which makes the game unplayable and unenjoyable, too. Though, a gimmick who balances the position without requiring further studies and distraction will leads to a promising version!

Made by @coooolchicken and @CooolChicken (alt jokes) Status : Declined Although this variant is definitely fascinating and has potential, we here have few reasons to decline the addition of the variant: Firstly, we found the synergies of the variant quite poorly, sometimes. Notice that some of the long-ranged pieces, being extremely strong for attacking; They also restricted the development of pawns, which disabled the use of some pieces, such as bishops. Then, the problem applies on the nature of long-ranged royal+atomic, which being "royal touching". We see the solution the variant given is KoTH, but they are not really harmonize when combining with the nature, pieces synergy of the variant. Over all, the variant is definitely exciting, but it needs much more to be added. For the reasons mentioned above, we decided to decline this variant. We are really looking forward to a revision, or a modified version by the community!
