"All I know is that I know nothing!" (Socrates)
Who's Who?

Whenever someone asks me to say something about myself I usually say "um, I like to play chess." That wouldn't be very helpful here ... obviously.
So here is my snippet "I do American Civil War re-enacting as a member of the 16th LA infantry. You can check out our website at www.16thlainf.com."
The website is out of date, but you can see some pictures of our unit there, which might be interesting if your a history buff.

Such as?
Something else to think about: any topics you find interesting in the general forum? Perhaps mention them here. These can easily slip under the radar.
http://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/chesscom---the-movie, for instance. There ought to be a scene based around group rivalry: any two groups spring to mind?

We probably ought to add the most infamous Chess Spartans to the table (e.g. Billium248# - not to be confused with his rational clone Billium248) - "know thine enemy", and all that! Any Spartans out there care to volunteer some information? ("Anything you say will be taken down, and may be used against you in a table of Who's Who").

What's up with Billium248, he's an Athenian and a Spartan?
Is this a matter of, 'Keeping your friends close and your enemies closer'?
I'll bet he's reporting back all our secret plans. I hope Art has a spy for us in their camp.

... Billium248, ... I'll bet he's reporting back all our secret plans. I hope Art has a spy for us in their camp.

It's probably best not to mention the 'secret plans'.
Our mole is so deep undercover that his (or her) identity must be withheld - even from the elect. One curious point: Malko's Spartan opponent resigned even BEFORE Billium248 joined our camp. The Spartans are using 'our' patented 'resignation' ploy against us. Perhaps we should adopt their tactics in order to muddy the waters a little more.

I count 4 people (including me) who are members of both the Spartans and the Athenians. I am merely the most recent, and the only one to announce publicly which side I am a member of, and which side I am an ambassador to.
You guys are just too much fun over here for me to stay away too long.

Does "stoner" mean that there will soon be more Spartans than Athenians in Athens? Are we being bamboozled by the wooden horse of Sparta?

Indeed. This the second something you have written. And still no explanation for the first contribution. Does "stoner" have a meaning in Belgian?

I wasn't aware it had ANY meanings in English! However, on consulting a dictionary, I find ...
- an attacker who pelts the victim with stones (especially with intent to kill) wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
- Stoner is best known as mercurial bass guitar player and vocalist with influential protopunk rock band Doctors of Madness (1974-1978) and later with post-punk rock band which he formed with singer/composer/guitarist T.V. Smith in 1980. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoner (bass guitarist)
- A habitual user of cannabis en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stoner
Hello everybody - and a warm welcome to the newest members of Chess Athenians. It might be an idea if we introduced ourselves. Here is a table of (us) members. You may choose (or not!) to reveal some facet of your personality so that the rest of the group can get a glimpse of the Athenian behind the mask. I'll edit any comments into this table for quick reference! Don't be shy.
