Chess engines

Hi guys, I was wondering what chess engines are you using right now and how did you get them? By chess engines I mean Rybka, Fritz and so on. I would like to download( free of course  ) an engine so I'm eagerly waiting for your recommendations, cheers

Stockfish is free, open-source, and at least as good as Rykba and Fritz.

Houdini is what I use.

But why just one? There free. Download em all. Ivanhoe, Fire, Robolito, (free) Rybka's, Stockfish, Houdini............

At the recent TCEC tourny, Houdini came in first....Rybka4 second.

I use Fritz 11 that i buyed a long time ago, and i think its nice.

But free, i would use Stockfish and Houdini together.

Depending on what op sys you are runninng, Glaurung and Stockfish are strong and free engines. Sigma is also good.

Tnx guys, can someone post me a link where i can download houdini or stockfish? or fritz 11 but it has to be free  (financial slump, broke  ) and I don't want to spend money on something I can download free! Once more, thanks guys

Thanks, but I'm having problems with the languages, I found the file for english, here on chess.com , but I don't know what I should do with it...where do I need to paste it?
