What are you looking for? Entertainment or Instruction?
For instruction I suggest "My System" by Aron Nimzovitch.
For entertainment I suggest "Karl Marx Plays Chess" by GM Soltis
You should be able to find either one at amazon and/or eBay

you can never go wrong with a good book of well annotated master games. alekhine's best games collection and the life and games of mikhail tal are two of the best you can get your hands on.

No need - it's still in print. In fact, there's a very well-produced algebraic edition available, published by Quality Chess:
http://www.amazon.com/System-Chess-Classics-Aron-Nimzowitsch/dp/9197600539
and even cheaper in hardback:

The "free download" is a scam I've been to that site previously and it sucks ass bigtime.

I would recommend to study first of all that books which have been studied by the strongest chess players of all generations. As example, "My System" is an essential base of positional chess understanding. It is also very useful to study A. Alekhine games with his and A. Kotov comments ("300 best games", "Chess Inheritance of A. Alekhine", tournaments in New York, 1924, 1927). Games of H. Capablanca are very instructive regarding positional methods. Study classics and you will definitely increase your chess level.
Just finished reading the mammoth book of chess by Graham Burgesss. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
