Update. I looked over my exiting chess sets and decided I wanted another one with a slightly larger than 4"" King. Since I'm so happy with the set I purchased (as mentioned above) I went ahead and ordered this one.

There are a couple of other forum topics inquiring about places to get nice chess sets. Right now over at Chess Cafe there are a number of nice chess sets listed at 70% off.
I ordered one on the 12th and it arrived yesterday. The set I bought is advertised at $119.95 and on sale for $35.99.
I'm not sure it's worth $119.95, but I would have say it is a bargain at $35.99. It's a beautiful looking set, and quite heavy. It comes with four queens. It was well packaged, with the rooks and queens individually wrapped to protect the tops.
I'm looking forward to using this set at my next tournament. It's a lot nicer than the triple-weighted plastic set I've been using (which is also a nice set) and yet at this price if "anything happens to it" I won't be devastated.
The "Olympian 3-7/8" Ebonized Chessmen (4 queens)" set at this same site also looks like a nice set. At that price ($38.99... also 70% off) I might have to get it for a friend of mine.
Finally, if you have a few extra bucks to spend and you hate taking a nice wooden set to a local tourney and using it with a cheap $3.00 roll-up vinyl board, over at American Chess Equipment they are selling leather roll-up boards! I live just a couple of miles from this place and purchased one of these a week ago. I love it.
