I saw 1...e4 with d5 but assumed with the title it was the center counter. But I understand the point of confusion.

OK, I see, black just takes the pawn back. I guess more challenging would be white's f3 kicking the black bishop to f5 or h5, but then again the gambited pawn will be returned because the only extra protection to d5 pawn may come from Nc3, and after black knight on b8 jumps to d7 and then to b6, the pawn is doomed anyway.

A former USCF Correspondence Chess Champion won ALL his games (playing black) while using the Center Counter or Scandinavian defense.

Okay, I have extracted the necessary data from this post, neglected the unnecessary comments, good day, forum topic closed.
Yes, I observed the Center Counter being employed at a greater frequency. All I was looking for was a possible reason (presence in Video Lessons, or perhaps Magnus Carlsen used it and all his rabid worshippers wanted to use it?). I did not get a reason, however I did get people arguing about others' literacy. Not sure where that came from because I skimmed through the pointless posts. We are all done here.
