One opening I discovered is the Amar Opening (for White). The following variation leads to only three games in the explorer. Machine gives an evaluation of -1 but I dont see that White is in much trouble here. What do you think?

If you know some lines in the Amar opening it might be useful in blitz. I would be concerned about 2... c5 which black has had success with, even though black probably has no preparation for this opening. It's scary that white is -1 so early!
My strategy with the explorer is to find good moves but not always play the statistically best. I want to stay within a style that is comfortable for me and only play the moves I understand.
If my opponent leaves theory early it doesn't bother me too much - I want to figure out why their move is unpopular and try to exploit a weakness.
Playing only a few simul games allows for extra time to focus on one game that has become interesting while not falling behind in the other games.
It's usually a better idea going for a solid opening but a somewhat vague line than just playing a crazy opening to try and catch your opponent off guard. But as the person above mentioned in blitz pretty much anything works.
In daily games I often ask myself´how I can lead my opponent to unknown variations so that he doesnt just copy lines from the explorer. Also for VC games I think this can be a powerful strategy. Does anybody have a good idea for such openings? Or what other kind of thought process do you have when you use the explorer?
