Is a bishop fienchetto a bad idea ?

So when are you going to post the link to these easy ideas and ask us to mention your name when making a purchase?

And I plan to be on chess.com for while, so maybe one day in a year or two you'll see a CM or NM next to my handle, because at this rate, it'll come in less than that.
We have seen this thread (described above) about 50 times in the past 3 years.
It's so original.

FYI, on "controlling squares" --

I have watched The GrandMaster's Positional Understanding and I wasn't all that impressed with it. It basically just says "put your pieces in positions where they control the most squares", which is a commonly known rule of thumb that can be found elsewhere for free.
Some people do need a Grandmaster telling them about the absolute fundamentals, to apply them just once and then having doubts about their validity.
It's not Smirnov's fault that there are people who are willing to pay six hundred bucks to learn about the fundamentals- these are the ceiling for many of them.

The chess trolling has already being adressed. Let's say I just join Scottrf and others on that one.
Now for the dubious claims, I checked and there is indeed an "Alex Bai" who ended up 3d in the 2012 World open <1800 section, pocketing a bit more than $4000. However, this game, which displays various mistakes among which a resignation in a drawn position, makes me think you are impersonating him on the internet (to have a prize in a <X section it is usually needed to perform over X+200 in most tournaments). Or maybe you are really him and just won the games by luck but your real performance is just lower than what you claim.
Either way, your best course of action is to shut up and to listen to the advice of people who know better.
I remember a story about a strong GM (I don't remember who it was) being asked the question "Which do you prefer, chess or sex?" and he replied "It depends on the position." I think the same answer applies to this too.

No, you should save your g2 and b2 squares for knights:

You know, that game IronTiger is griping about in which Alex resigned a "drawn" position looks like an appropriate resignation to me. There's no way that is drawn in online chess. White has huge advantage there...
Actually, I analysed a bit before claiming it's a draw... and it's a won game indeed.
I claimed it was a draw because I wanted to see his answer. Apparently, he took my word for it ; if he really knew it was won, he would have flamed me about it.
For the record, here is where the game ended, and what could be next :
OK, sure.
I never clicked on the link, since I don't care about online chess corr, and I never try in there, since I don't have time. I know my moves there are poor, but so what?
Now I even timed out a few since I had school.
Look at the real otb games: I posted a few up.
I never hired Smirnov. I bought his courses for around 400$, which I still haven't finished using to this day. That 400$ is nothing because of what I won in the world open. I got it back with about 1000% interest...if only u could do the same...
I don't rely on chess tourneys for income :). I could buy hundreds of courses like that (or I could if I did not have a wife, anyway ;)...), but I would never say $400 was nothing. It's a lot to pay for a course where you don't even get 1 on 1 instruction from the GM.
