Bringin out your rooks (and maybe your queen!) early is a good thing to do. While your opponent is busy castling away like a coward, you can rock the board with your big guns. Yasser Seirawan wrote in his book 'Winning Chess Openings' that this was his opening strategy in the early years (he also developed a nasty queen raid opening)!
