Here's an unnamed opening I found:

Any thoughts on it? Here are a few of the lines I could see being played:

Any thoughts?

White probably should be more measured than playing d5 e4.

3.d5 is overextending the White position; the dark squares become significantly weakened after this.

Best is probably 3.Nf3, transposing into the Black Knights Tango after 3...Nf6.

well, by pushing the pawn you are kicking the knight, like in the Alekhine's defense. The engine seems to think it's the best move.

It looks playable. Instead of Qh4, I would play d6 and move my knight to g6 to allow myself to play e5.

The light squares do not exactly fit the definition of "weak" in the Alekhine.

Here the dark squares are more weakened because White has also committed the pawn to c4.

d5 is meh and if white didnt do that it would become some nimzoindian or something normal...

but yeah it looks playable.. somehow..

I would have played 5.Bd2 so I wouldn't get doubled pawns

Bd2 may not be much better, black trades off the bishops. Then he plays d6 and (later) e5. All of a sudden, white's stuck with a bad bishop.

How to use the Italian Game to your advantage (I call it the Italian Game: Crunchwald Attack)

If they don't move g6 on move 7, moving instead Kf8, it's a quick checkmate with Qf7#. If they move Ke7, move Qf7+ and then if they proceed to d6, play Nf7, forking the queen and king. It's checkmate in a few moves after that anyway.

2. ...Nc6 is kind of breaking some principles about d4 openings that generally the knight shouldn't be developed in front of the c pawn as it blocks it from being utilised.

3. d5 by white was poor though as it overextends white's centre without developing. After 3. d5 Ne5 4. e4 Nc6 this has now transposed into a line of the Black Knights' Tango which black is doing perfectly well in.

White is better off developing than trying to punish with 3. d5 as it doesn't work.

After 3. e4 d5 4. exd5 exd5, this has now transposed into some kind of French Exchange, Monte Carlo and it's about equal.

And if 4. ...Nc6, it's the same position.
