Smith-Morra
The Syberian Trap is a good way to meet SMith Morra, seeing that it could catch some SM players unaware and win quickly, while if it doesn't the set-up is still very reasonable.
If the SMG really gives you trouble, just decline it and play it more or less like an Alapin.
Objectively, that's probably not the strongest way to deal with it. And it's certainly not the most macho.
But it can help you to cut down on your opening prep, and can put you in a game of a style you're more comfortable with if you're not into defending against crazy gambiteers.
As a bonus, most crazy gambiteers get less comfortable when forces to play a quieter, more positional opening.
So even though it's not the solution theory would give the highest grade to, from a practical standpoint, it may be the most effective for the average player.
So, 2.d4 cxd 3.c3...and then whichever move fits best with the rest of your repertoire. Certainly e6, d5, Nf6, and a6 all work okay...maybe others do as well. Check your local listings.
I need to know how to defend against the Smith-Morra Gambit. Any ideas? Also, I need to know how to defend against the Wing Gambit, but this is far less popular.
