How does this lose?

It's pacisifist chess 3.0. King's can't capture.

AutisticCath

That ain't pacifist chess 3.0! I'd know cause it's my invention! There are no knights in pacifist chess and besides Qxf7 would be illegal in pacifist chess as well as delivering checkmate.

Well, I think I have the DEFINITIVE answer for people who doubt about RUY LOPEZ and every opening.

The core is: your DNA MUST fit the opening.

For exemple, if you are Mexican and live in USA for a long time; has absorbed the American Culture, then you can play English opening, or even The Slav opening.

In this case, sometimes your body (your DNA) will fight against the opening, because you still have some Mexican roots. But it is a matter of adaptation.

French Defense is good only for France citizens, for obvious reasons.

If you are not French, you will face troubles playing the French Defense, because your DNA is not compatible. Your body will react and you may feel unconfortable playing it.

English Defense is good for Americans, because of the American History.

If you are spanic and live in USA, you can also try The Sicilian or French Defense, because of the latin origin.

Remember, your DNA MUST fit the opening, or you will lose the game.

Yes, it is complicated, but this thing about DNA x best opening is easy to understand if you analyse THE CORE of the question.

AND RUY LOPEZ?????? It is better for Spanish and for latins in general, like French, Portuguese, Brazilians...

Well, that might explain why I love the Italian so much. I lived next to an Italian restaurant for 2 years, and it was during those years that I started playing chess regularly. Good times...

It is easy to explain. You live in USA, but you got some "spirit" from Italy because of your neighborohood.

That is why you feel confortable with The Italian. Your DNA accepts the opening; it is natural.

Yes, that must be it. And while we're on the subject of DNA and opening preferences... a lot of people here claim to like the Fried Liver Attack. I'd really like to see what their everyday diet looks like.

@macer75

I had a similar experince.

When I first started chess I played the Ruy Lopez.

However, I played it really bad.

Than I switched over to the Italian Game because it seemed a lot simplier.

After I got to about 1500 I tryed the Ruy Lopez again and fell in love with it all over again.

I play it exclusively now from the white side.

After 3.Bb5 black's has tons of different responses.

The mainline of the Ruy Lopez is with 3...a6.

In higher level the move 3...Nf6 is popular which is the Berlin Defense.

Obviously black has over a dozen playable variations at move 3.

I don't play 1...e5 alot against 1.e4.

However, what ever I feel like playing the black side of the Ruy Lopez.

I often like playing the Arch Angel, Berlin Defense, or the Cozio Defense against the Ruy Lopez.

As for 3...Bc5 that is the Classical Variation

Robert_New_Alekhine is joking on post 10.

3...Bc5 is playable for sure.

I mean 4.1, invented by ME.

ALL moves lose! Post a line and I will REFUTE it!

AutisticCath

Your pacifist chess version isn't very pacifist!

No, Bc5 loses!!

as I see it 6...Qxe5 in the best move. which doesn't lead to a checkmate.

exactly my point

wait...you mentioned pacifist chess. isnt this a thread about the normal chess opening ruy Lopez? I think introducing a line for the pacifist chess variation caused confusion.

ShianAntigeroy

i like variation : 1)e4 e5 2)nf3 nc6 3)bb5 a6 4)bxc6 dc 5) d4 ed 6) qxd4 qxd4 7) nxd4

I disagree. I have never lost in a tournament OTB game as white in the Ruy, at lesat from what I know, but never lost with f5 as black (OTB)

3... f5!

You think the Ruy lopez Refutes Nc6

What if f5 Refutes Bb5

Go on, lets debate this varyation

Some games:

when black can play f5

Oops, PGN messup. But you get the point.

MarcoBR444

In Ruy Lopez sometimes may happen 4 doubled pawns!

APPLAUSE FOR ME!! THAT IS WHY I AM THE KING OF PATZERS!!!!

The Ruy Lopez is a great starter opening to learn, but it is simple and does not have the ability to clinch an advantage in the beginning of the game, which is what an opening is supposed to do.

@ Logozar:

Your choice of games in the line has really convinced me. However, I remain faithful to 3...Qf6. Behold my startling victory, in which I played an almost-perfect game according to the computer!
