The sergeant is the most valuable type of pawn as it can move like any other type of pawn, but each of the other types of pawns cannot move in all the ways a sergeant can move. I think the stone general is more valuable than the stone general has a larger range than the soldier as while the stone general is color bound it isn't restricted to moving in a single line but can move in 2 different directions unless its path is blocked by a friendly unit or its next to the edge of the board. The regular pawn, and the Berolina pawn both have a greater range than the soldier and the stone general but have the weakness of being able to be blocked, so I wonder if they are weaker or stronger than the stone general and soldier and how they compare to each other. I notice also that the sergeant has a greater range than the soldier and the stone general combined, so I might expect it to be much more powerful than the two combined.
If we set the soldier to have a practical value of 1, then what might be the practical values of the other types of pawns?
