Event Chess Game (Waredude - thegreatauk)

Event#70 Ice
Pieces that moves in a direction can only move their maximum distance in that direction. Pawns are unaffected by this event.
Note: Normal knight moves does not move in a direction, so they are unaffected by this event.
Example 1:
In this position the only legal moves for the queen are Qa1, Qa4, Qa7, Qxd7, Qh8, Qh4, Qg1, Qd1. One example of a move that is NOT legal is Qd6. For black his pawn is allowed to move to both d6 or d5 since pawns are unaffected by the event.
Here whites queen are able to move Qf6, Qf4 or Qf2. Or white could simply move his king with for example Ke2.
Example 3:
Here white is allowed to play 0-0 or 0-0-0, but white is not allowed to play Kd1 or Kf1.

Hi @martin0, I enjoy following these games to see what the events look like and how they work together.
In Ice example 3:
How come Kd1 or Kf1 isn't allowed? Is it because they have enhanced movement and must go to Kb1 or Kg1? Also, along that logic if O-O should K end up on h1 and should Rh end up on b1? And if O-O-O should K end up on a1 and Ra on g1?
Keep up the good stuff. You should publish an index of all these events for the community to access

Hi @pjfoster1313
I'm a little bit behind, but all events that has been played on the forums should be put up on my blog. I have all published ones listed in the main blog event chess blog (link), along with a list of played games. I have all the events written down for myself, but not in a format suitable to show others.
So slowly, all events will get listed there as more games get played, but I intend to keep it being a slow process.
The ice event actually has no enhanced movement, so pieces end up on the same squares as normal during castling. It is just so pieces have to move as far as it can when it moves in a direction. So for the king, it can move to d2, e2 or f2 as normal since it does not have a move that puts the king further in those directions. However, the king can not move to d1, because the king has a legal move that puts the king on c1 (castling long). Same is true for not being allowed to move to f1 (since it has a legal move that puts it on g1).
