PLAY -> Online Chess.

Start New Game (under Play Chess).    Don't use Start New Game!

Change with the usual game options to game options I select from the drop-down menu.

Change Standard chess to Chess960 from the new dropdown.

Chess960 gives you a random starting position and then you play chess.
