I Invented A New Variant Of Chess Called Spazzando; Can It Work?

"Spazzando" is a new type of chess where promotion, capturing, and checking is not allowed. The game can only end in checkmate. It can never be more than 50 moves due to the fifty-move rule. Castling can be allowed. This game is the first example of the term "Spazzando" used. Hopefully this new variant can go somewhere just as Chess960 when Fischer invented it.  Probably will do well with the other types. happy.png

Without capturing? What if I make a fortress that even knight can't reach my king?

HorribleTomato

No try this-

No capture, or check for everything but the queen, so the goal is to find a way to worm the queen in to trap the king or mate.

Capturing is allowed (finally) at the 100 move mark.

Tomato's idea is great. In fact, it's going to be a different type of Spazzando: Entrazzando.

It was Tomato's idea.

Can I play a game?

YourShahIsNowMat

Sure! How about we play the game in 9:30 ET, is that good?

HorribleTomato

Wait then Kxf7 is illegal- only QUEENS may capture...

You can play daily on this thread as well.

No offense, but Spazzando should always be a draw, because of fortresses.

Sample where white uses the cornering rule to win material.

Should've read that a lot more clearer. Sorry.

YourShahIsNowMat

There was six checks in that game but checking isn't allowed, though.

HorribleTomato

Eh it's okay (checking is allowed by the QUEEN)

No capture, or check for everything but the queen, so the goal is to find a way to worm the queen in to trap the king or mate.

Capturing is allowed (finally) at the 100 move mark.

Hey, I can remember when Spazzando was still pure!  None of this Entrazzando crap.
