You read that right! I know, it's a weird ask; but I've had a few ideas (thanks to my good friends) on something I can do to enable members to have ownership/administrative opportunities in these clubs.

Here's the deal. If I find an inactive club and get admin or (even better) super admin or owner, then I'll be able to promote members and guide them through various aspects of being staff members. Since the club already has members (and a willing helper), it gives the staff something to work with, as opposed to creating and advertising a club from complete scratch. At its best, this idea creates a rewarding path to reviving a club and making great staff members (and perhaps owners), and at its worst the club will be regifted to someone else.

That being said, you should really only give me clubs that the owner genuinely doesn't care about anymore, because I don't want to take over a club that has yet to live up to its true potential. There's no shortage of dead clubs that needlessly use up server space, and there's no shortage of members that are finding it difficult to hit the ground running.

Without further ado, post the club (and a link) in the comments!

I have a dead club with 150 members, does that do your job?

@Legendowski More than enough! As long as you're willing to promote me to admin or higher, I'd love it!

Like most good business proposals. It's entirely unclear what you actually do. You have, "a method of becoming owner of these inactive clubs". Without the current owners consent? How the expletive does that work?

TheJobavaSicillian

Pretty much every slow chess league/daily related leagues are dead at this point. They haven't been active since like 2018-2022

I never said I have am method for becoming owner. It's definitely great to have, but I'll settle for admin if necessary. As for the consent factor, anyone that signs up is already agreeing to let me join and promote me. I trust that whoever signs their club up is an admin or higher (I check that). And now that we have a club for it, anyone may opt out by leaving that club at any time happy.png
