Forum's Quality

To get sorta serious about seriousness for a second...I hear a number of starched-collar types deriding the lack of seriousness around here.  But whenever I post things in a fun vein on the forums, I generally enjoy myself and it proves to be time well-spent.

By contrast, whenever I post a "serious" topic (like a game, for example) the only response I get (when I actually do get a response) is from some yoyo or other telling me that I suck (I mean, like I really needed somebody else to point that out to me).

Maybe if this place was comprised of wall-to-wall Lawrence Oliviers, then I'd put on the monkey suit and join them in their loftily aristocratic ways.  As it is though, it seems to be made up mostly of Jerry Lewises and Soupy Saleses...so it's time to grab the seltzer bottles and cream pies and have at it! 

Been trying to think of one single topic that stood out clearly as refined-comment or debate on chess-matters & simply cannot ?

The best ones (In my opinion) had an element of humour or zaniness present at times.

They do get into bad habits ....
