How I got diamond membership for free

I created this account and abandoned this for 6 months. I came back and saw that I have one month diamond membership. It said that they have gifted me with diamond membership. Has anyone else got this/ any ideas how this happened?

Chess.com has been gifting inactive players with free diamond memberships in an effort to bring old users back and increase membership. I know for sure that all members that went inactive 2-3+ years ago got memberships, so the same thing probably happened with you and everyone else that went inactive 6 or more months ago.
For how long does the membership last?

With membership it depends you can either pay monthly or yearly so all. Depends what you do.
The same happened to me. 2 years ago, I couldn't watch this: https://www.chess.com/lessons/master-endgame
but know I can.
And I didn't even pay

I logged in and it said thank you for being a good member have 1 week of free diamond membership.

I went inactive for like 6-7 months (not joking, I hate the meme too) and chess.com never gave me a membership lol

I was a member for like 3 or 4 years bud
