Would you like some cheese with that whine?  If you haven't realized that life is not fair by now then you probably never will.  ...but it's kinda funny when children throw tantrums to get their way.

kinda funny?  and yes, i'll take some cheese.

Althought I wish otherwise, my first thought was "I'll cut some for you." It's not fair!

Why didn't I copyright the phrase:

"It's not fair" ?

Pointless thread bump - it's not fair!

The Site does not allow newbie 1200 players to enter site events ,undoubtedly for good reasons.  So why does it allow Tournament Directors to to so when the result is so often unfair to the lowly rated members at bottom of lists ? The site is responsible, since it sets out all the conditions , when a "Newbie"  rated 1200 turns out to be in fact an accomplished  high scoring player who unfairly demolishes the hard earned ratings  that lowly players are struggling to maintain and improve. If the rules ar unfair, the competition is bogus ! Awaiting any official reply with great interest. If it does not come...

It's not fair !

Thanks to you bumping the thread by posting to it, so did I. Also, everything you love will one day cease to exist. It's not fair!

Great...I saw there were new postings so I read them. After spending that time, I felt compelled to comment.

It's not fair.

During turn-based chess play on this site (though NOT during LiveChess play), according to chess.com's rules for playing

You MAY use books, magazines, or other articles. You may also use computer databases (including Chess.com's Game Explorer)

but if I want to do that but my opponent does not want to, he (sometimes) says:

 IT'S NOT FAIR!

(p.s. in the interests of fairness, please try to ensure that every submission to this topic ends with the phrase: "It's not fair!")

Why do you complain "It's not fair" when you can do what you want/want not to do?

When I began to play on chess.com, I was very impressed of how useful this site's tools are, and I have to admit that I used the opening database quite frequently. But after a short time, I recognized that this style of playing can absolutely ruin my chess' passion, therefore I decided to play just on my own, without any assistance (in my last 60 games). And you know what? I still won most of my games even without the help of the database.

I don't think that using databases while playing correspondence chess is bad, especially when it is allowed by the site, but each chess player can choose a style of play for his/her own sake.

It's ok if you use databases, it's ok too if you don't.

It's fair!
