Seriously, what is with the obsession with SCM? This guy was a cheater, obviously, and wasn't even a good player, by the looks of it. Probably not a good troll either - I bet he didn't get 100+ posts on a topic in a single day.

That policy has worked well ! Over time we have witnessed a dramatic decline in abuse as the abusers are "tracked." Too funny
It is correct it's a "win/win" result for both parties. CC and abusers are both happy. The bills get paid. But it can not be claimed that "tracking" abusers in any way, shape or form deters/reduces abuse.
Clearly, the victims of the abuse are the ones who suffer. But their standing is seldom of concern to either CC or the abusers. They are merely bystanders in the on-going cycle.
I have to disagree with you there. If it is the person that I blocked, then they can't come back and post in threads I create if they are allowed to come back. Also when I see their avatar, I know I can skip that post as it will be lacking in logic. If I ever got good at chess they wouldn't be able to match me either. So in the above ways, it will reduce abuse that I have to deal with.
Segue to the other thing, if it's the person that I think, their logic leaps were so rubbish in threads consistently, that I couldn't understand how they were so good at chess, so this thread sheds a lot of extra light on why that might be the case.
are we celebrating some aniversary of that pretend russian guy leaving? )

yes am pretty sure I saw him the other day in the 7 bad habits thread, his terrible logic / style of argument and crap english pattern are pretty distinctive. the first letters of his name were ifron or something
