Pretty sure there's no way for players to join unless they get into contact with a team captain that has a team and is looking for players to play in Pro Chess League?

Then chess.com forum isn't really a good idea as most of the general public has absolutely no idea about those things. Maybe see who were the captains of the past teams and contact them. (Don't do that yourself, they won't reply back to you. Rather do that by your titled friend).
Does anyone know of any pro chess league teams looking for players. Or how someone would go about joining?
