Well, 64, then the whole board, then 16 squares of 4, 8 squares of 8, and that equals 89 but that cannot be right. It may help to look at a chess board...

In the mid 70's, I was a guard, and I never had good luck with Air Force vehicles. Well one night, we got a little too high, and I flipped a truck over, and alarms went off.
