On your question about removing the Knight - c6 was certainly playable, as your King was still quite safe in that position
Thank you for all this input, it does help studying the game afterwards, and I am hearing what I thought I would. I have now done computer analysis on the game and the computer says the whole game only consisted of 2 inaccuracies and 2 blunders (which is really low for me) with the blunders being what I noticed afterwards.
that makes sense, I will definitely have a different mind set when I am given an advantage with opposite side castling next time, as shown in my comments pushing the pawns up I didn't even know what I was doing but it makes a lot of sense with what you said I should have done and will give me an insight into the next games I play with similar positions.
