Hey, I'm quite a new player in Chess that recently started playing.
I have a quick question about my match against the bot Nelson.
In this picture I wonder if I won or not.
I am black, and from my perspective it looks like I won the match, but
Nelson says "Looks like we're evenly matched. Want to try again?".
Quick Note: I won/draw when I made my pawn to a queen.
What does Nelson mean by saying "Looks like we're evenly matched."?
Is this a draw or did I actually win?
Thanks!
The result was indeed a draw. There is a rule in chess called stalemate where the game ends in a draw if a player has no legal moves. Here, you unfortunately queened your pawn which removed all the remaining squares the white king had to move. The king is not in check, so it is a stalemate.
