Thank you for amusing comments. It seems to me that you started panicing before the game have started. If i was your coach, I would work on your motivation and mind set PRIOR to the game. What happened in the game is actually irrelavant. You came to the battle preparing to lose!! And i can clearly see that because you gave up the f4 pawn. When you were chocked and were grasping for air, you sacked the exchange but it was too late. So my advice, come to the game with the attitude that you will kill your opponent, no matter what his rating is. Now let's go over the game:

d4 d5 Nf3 e6 - So far so good.

Bf4 Nf6 - OK I guess. I am not too familiar with this opening but looks playable. Obviously you don't want to play Bg5

e3 Bd6 - Good, you follow your development plan

Bd3 ? - This is serious decision you had to make. You basically had several options: B:d6, Bg3,  Bg5 and Bd3. I personally would have played Bg3 or Bg5. Don't get into dogmatic thinking that "moving a piece twice is bad", it all depends on the position.

... B:f4

ef Qd6

0-0?? - Now you got to deal with two threats: Q:f4 and Qb4. I guess you should have played Qd2 to defend both threats.

.. Q:f4

c3 Qd6 Ne5 Nbd7

f4 - Looks a bit dangerous but nevertheless gives you an opportunity to complecate things.

 ... 0-0

Nbd2 - I would have tried g4 or a plan Rf3 - Rh3 - g4. Understand you are worse already and if you just sit there you will get cooked.

... c5

Bg5 - ?? Again this moves shows your mind set, you are prepared to lose. This doesn't achieve anything.

... cd

cd Qb6 - Of course, he takes advantage of your Bg5 mistake

After that it's just lost... These are my thoughts :)

Another opinion on 5.Bd3 ...

It's okay. Black capturing on f4 is positionally dubious: White now owns e5 (... Bf4 6.ef Qd6 7.Ne5), and after c3 and Qc2 White has pressure on h7 and f5.

22. Qg4+ Kh8 23. Rxh7+! Kxh7 24. Qh4+ etc. is a draw by perpetual chek. Of course it was a mistake by black to allow this as he was clearly winning.

On move 7, you should have reinforced your pawn with g3. You could have castled Queenside, hopped your b1-Knight to d2, your other Knight to e5, and then started a minority attack on the Kingside. As it was, Black won material and the initiative.

By the way, it would not have been a good idea to take his Bishop with 5.Bxd6?! The d6-pawn would keep your pieces out of c5 and e5, give Black's Rooks the half-open c-file, and would not be weak because you wouldn't be in a position to attack it.
