How not to play 'the sniper'

Possibly the worst defeat I've had. Not so much a piece blunder, but a position blunder. I play 1.g6, usually leading a defensive and passive game, but this time I thought I'd spice things up a little.

This is not how you play 'The Sniper'.

I enjoyed this annotated game - I have been playing a lot of sniper lately.  What would you have played at move 7, Qc7?

Yeah, think its probably the only move to do really.

How do you find playing c5? I've not played it since this game, other than a group match.

This game is kind of wierd. I feel you had a lot of opppurtunitys to play better moves then you did, and not just in the opening, I mean even after the obvious disadvantage. I could be wrong, its just how I feel. At the moment I am too lazy to follow the alternatives through so I cannot say what they might be.
