i played a game against a similar rated player, and right off the bat, he did moves which seemed to me to be like the pre moves to somthing big. the trap did come, and caused me to make inaccuracy and blunders. im a beginner, so i need advice(outside of chess review bots)

I assume you are talking about this position, when your knight was attacked.
You decided to not move your knight. Instead, you thought a pawn attack on your opponent's queen was your best chance. A move later you lost your queen.
It's pretty clear that the pawn attack was not the best. The computer says that taking on e4 with your knight was far better.
