Mate in 29

What's the highest "Mate in ??" possible?  Looking through the game review of my most recent game, I have noticed that my opponent missed a M29 chance.  Could anybody (not a computer) actually work out the moves necessary to follow this series of moves through to a conclusion?  Unfortunately my poor play allowed my opponent to win in just 13 more moves!

Hello! I don’t know for sure what the highest is, but I do remember seeing a YouTube video about a checkmate in 130 or so. Sounds crazy, I know, but it was a fun watch.
