My best worst OTB game: feedbacks needed!

Hi all,

Just played an interesting game. For context, my opponent is about 1600 (and I 1350) OTB. I didn't prepare at all for the match, was a last minute replacement and i did change repertoire 2 months ago (from 1.c4 to 1.e4!).

The game is full of mistakes, i kind of played all-in to create either winning or perpetual chances. At the end i got a winning position that i blundered away. the endgame could have been interesting if he didn't feel to settle for a perpetual (but i think he didn't have an option)

Thank you in advance! have great day/evening/knight happy.png

It seems to me like you misjudged your ability to get a kingside attack without having the position ripped open and/or finding your king without shelter.  11. qg4, 12. b4, 14. qh3 and 15. bd3 are all just hope chess.  Better moves would leave you in desperate position.  Even at the end of the sequence, 15. ... f5 leaves you with an inferior position.  18. 0-0-0 is also obviously bad -- don't know why you thought something is wrong with 18. fxe5.  White is stuck in the middle, but by this point does have a legit attack.

I guess you're right.. I did see 15...f5 but I thought that the more the position is closed, the less it is dangerous for my king to be uncastled. Plus it would take some time for to activate his bishop. I didn't think my position was good, but more playable than you say happy.png
